LSS is the regulatory body for Scottish lawyers and performs the vital function of issuing practising certificates to eligible lawyers in Scotland. They have a large member base of indiovidual lawyers and practises.
LSS had had a web design firm do a project on how the standard member portal could be updated and personalised to meet their needs. They asked us to implement this design in RiSE for them using standard iMIS iParts wherever possible. They also asked that there were lists of links and reminders that had editable business logic behind them so that different users would see different links based on their CRM data.
Another request was to be able to pull in favorites from the CMS (Umbraco) and store them and have them visible and editable by the user in iMIS. Along with this, they wanted various news feeeds to dynamically appear on a contact's record based on their CRM profile.
We used RiSE custom page page layouts and CSS to achieve the look and feel that they requested. To achieve the personalised lists fro Quick Links and reminders, we used the Viewz iPart from Zengagers. This allowed us to create links that displkayed for some users and fnot for others based on just a few IQA queries. The beauty of this was that LSS could easily seee and edit the business logic whenever they needed to add or change links.
To get favourites from Umbraco into iMIS, we created a web widget in UMbraco, that when clicked, took the user to a RiSE landing page and carried the Umbraco content URL, ImageURL and title as parameters in the URL. This landing page in Rise contained a WebToolz page that read the paramters from the URL, displayed them back to the user and allowed them to add the content to their fsvourites in RiSE. These favourites where then displayed in the contact profile with a link to be able to edit them.
Personalised RSS feeds were also added to the member landing page using the Query RSS iPart from Zengagers. This essentially reads and RSS feed, allows you to format it in the manner of your choice, and then displays or does not display the feed based on the results of an IQA query.
LSS were delivered a highly user friendly and effective user portal for their members. This was all done within iMIS RiSE and the solution was completely upgradeable. Most importantly, they could see and alter the business logic behind all the personalisation at will.
